About Me
I am a newborn photographer because I believe everyone deserves beautiful, tangible images of their adorable little babies. I want you to feel joy EVERY single time you look at the photographs hanging on your wall, see your baby's album on the coffee table, or sit down to sift through your keepsake box. Capturing this fleeting moment of life, this little person that YOU brought into this world, is incredibly rewarding and brings me so much joy.
My motivation comes from my three children and my desire to build a career that is flexible enough to work around their schedule. While living in northern Michigan in my earlier years, I built a successful wedding and portrait photography business – which I loved, but it involved heavy weekend hours. After moving to northern Virginia, I took a full-time corporate job in a marketing department putting my RIT photography degree to use by incorporating product, portrait, and event photography along the way. Years later, the company went through an acquisition... and I was informed they would be eliminating my position following my maternity leave.
What a blessing in disguise this turned out to be! I was able to spend the whole year soaking up every moment with my third baby. Seeing the rapid growth in the area and raising my own three little ones has sparked a new passion in me for newborn photography.
As newborn photography is such a specialized niche, I’ve mentored with an amazingly talented photographer based out of Maryland, educated myself with online tutorials taught by world-renowned newborn photographers, and have learned all about newborn safety and technique.
